I've had this plastic cup for over 20 years - ever since Penn State won the national college football championship in 1986. It was a sad day when it finally cracked. May it rest in peace, and may there be new hope for a championship for the Nittany Lions! I'd love an excuse to get a new cup!!

Damon and I made good use of some frequent flier miles by taking a trip to San Francisco. We bused around the city together, as well as taking advantage of the lindy exchange that was going on. Many thanks to Hep Jen for her fine hospitality! :) The highlight picture to the left is of the house that was used in the movie, Pacific Heights.

Alida and Ruthie had a birthday party at our house. Antics ensued and fun was had by all.

Aaron and Casey Sue came over for some Guitar Hero and other Wii fun. We also dabbled in some karaoke. Casey Sue was AWESOME.

DJ Natch VJ'd his world famous videos swing night at UCF. This time it wasn't just an 80's night, but swingable music videos from any era were played. A totally awesome time was had by all.

Jeff, Linda and I got up at dawn to take photos of the quiet streets slowly waking to a pretty Saturday. These are the last photos from my stay in New York City. There are still so many pictures I wish I had taken...

Damon and I took advantage of our proximity to New England and saw some more states. In four days we knocked out Vermont with a cute train ride, New Hampshire with a night of dancing at Swing Out New Hampshire and dinner with some friends, Maine with some lobster in Bar Harbor, Massachusetts with an overnight stay camped on the beach in Provincetown as well as a visit to spooky Salem, Rhode Island with a stop at a rest area, Connecticut with dinner at the famous Mystic Pizza, and a ferry ride to the eastern tip of Long Island to make our way back home. Some events are not represented by pictures, but we captured what we could. It was a whirlwind, yet marvelous, spin through the area.

Jeff and Linda came to visit before we left for Florida. We all went out shooting and these are what Jeff came up with.

We finally made a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The pictures of our apartment building show how close we live to these two historical monuments.

We took a group tour of the United Nations.

Twice a year the sunset lines up so that it sets perfectly between the buildings along the streets of Manhattan. It is called Manhattanhenge because it resembles Stonehenge. These pictures were taken from the Tudor City bridge over 42nd Street.

It was freezing! Rainy, windy, cold, but still a good time at a party on the 21st floor of our building.

We just so happened to pick this day to go to Coney Island, which turned out to be a much better photo opportunity than we had anticipated.

I always buy the largest eggs possible so that the chances of getting double-yolks are increased. This dozen had three double-yolk eggs!

I accompanied Damon partway to the airport on his way back down to Florida, and then I spent the rest of the day in the City (Central Park, mostly) taking pictures with my new camera.

Willis moved on up from 7 Hanover Square to One World Financial Center.

We all went out to play pool in the city. So sorry about the blue pictures and the blurriness. It wasn't the beer, I swear. My little point-and-shoot doesn't do so great in low light, and it didn't help that I obviously didn't have the white balance set correctly. But it was a good time, anyway.

We played in the snow in the park in front of our apartment building.

First we rode the tram to Roosevelt Island, then we took the subway down to the tip of Manhattan to catch the Staten Island Ferry. On Staten Island we rode the subway a few stops just so we could say we actually set foot on Staten Island. Then we made our way back to the ESPN Restaurant/Bar at Times Square so that I could win a couple of games of air hockey. It was, after all, my birthday. My first ski experience ever! We went to Ski Liberty in Pennsylvania, with a stop in Chambersburg to see some old haunts and visit some young friends.

We actually braved the City on New Year's Eve. We didn't even get there at the crack of dawn. We leisurely left our apartment in the early evening and figured we'd get as close as we could and see what we see. Ha. The ball drops on 42nd Street, and we couldn't get closer than 57th or so. But I still got my piece of confetti! It was pretty cold, so we wandered around and watched people 'til we felt like leaving, and we got home just in time to catch some decent shots of the fireworks at midnight from our balcony. Perfect.

We went into the City to look around and go ice skating at Rockefeller Center. We ended up deciding to wait because the lines were so long. I wanted to get more pictures of how pretty the City is during Christmastime but my camera battery ran out of juice! The first couple of shots are of our balcony decorated in festive hot pink for the holiday season.

Lauret had a party at her house that included guests/spouses. No kudos to the photographer (yours truly) on this album. My low-light photography sucks. But it's obvious we had a good time.

A work day in December: Starts with the sunrise from my window, then continues with the walk to the ferry, arriving in Manhattan, then an Aetna Christmas gathering at Grand Central Station that evening. There's a cool video of the Christmas light display and music in the station. The day is complete after some good blues in the subway station on the way home. That reflection in the ferry station window is me, but I'm not in a skirt cut up to my butt like it looks. It just happens to be a light colored skirt that is hard to see. Hahah, no, I don't go to work in skirts that short!

We went into the City to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but we were kinda late. We got there just in time to see them breaking everything down, which was probably just as interesting as the parade itself, if not more so. It was rainy and the wind about mowed us down (as evidenced by our umbrellas that lasted about a block), so my pictures are a bit half-hearted. But we found a diner and had a great Thanksgiving Day meal: Damon had turkey and mashed potatoes and I had pancakes!

We took a day trip to Bear Mountain to look at the fall colors and go hiking. It was an overcast day and the pictures don't do it justice, but it was still beautiful.

I guess I'll periodically put miscellaneous New York pictures in this file as I take them. This highlight picture is of Hook & Ladder 8, the fire station that was in Ghostbusters.

My stay at the Ramada at Journal Square in Jersey City, then my move to temporary accommodations in the building in which our apartment will be; some pictures of my commute and the view we will have.

Last party op before leaving for New York - we rocked! My pictures aren't so great and I wish I had taken more, but Jeff's are pretty good. The trampoline was a hit and zany antics ensued in the yard 'til well after dark. Inside we were rockin' the house with karaoke, dancing, and live jams. Oh, and we all sang "Eh, Cumpari" - pure joy.

We took Mandy and Sydney to Flagler Beach to make water dogs out of them. Although Jenga provided a stellar example, M & S remained dry.

Another trip to New York, this time by the both of us.

We took my father-in-law to the Ringling Circus Museum in Sarosota for Father's Day.

Reconnaissance trip to New York to prepare for the big move!

Took a trip with my husband and inlaws to visit my husband's grandfather in South Padre Island, Texas. Here are some mediocre pictures of the trip, most of which could use some cropping adjustments. There could have been some neat shots with a better camera, but I was just using my little point-and-click digital. I also recorded some sounds that the birds make, but they don't transfer to Gallery. :( Took a little jaunt on Grampa's boat, went to the zoo and the beach, and did some bird-watching. The grackles were awesome.

ORLX 2004's last hurrah, featuring DJ PJ and His Rockin' Roadster, as well as DJ Rob, DJ Keith, DJ Chris, and ORLX's own DJ Natch. Dancing by the lake under the Florida blue sky - for FREE! Can't get much better than that.

John Davis had Audra, Alex, Damon and me come do a demo at the downtown Library for Orlando's week-long Festival of the Arts series (or something like that).

Jeff, Linda, Damon and I took a trip to Daytona so that we could all take pictures of the sunrise. There are some duplicate shots here because I was experimenting with different settings on my little digital Nikon CoolPix 5200.

DJPJ invited us to the 11th annual Mad Hatter's Party, sponsored by Johnny Miller and friends. This was a real treat!

This was a surprise party for Damon for getting his master's degree. This was also the day we decided to get married!
